For those of you who have read my recent blog progress report, you know my main challenge was task overload in the last couple of months.
I felt like I had a million things to do (and I probably do). And this is not purely related to my business but also every other aspect of my life.
That’s why I’m super excited to have had the chance to use the new Slay Your Goals Planner in preparation for the new year.

There’s something inspiring about using a beautiful organizer to plan, reflect on, write and review your goals.
It’s one way to get motivated and it can inspire you to do what you’ve been saying you would do. It moves you from thinking to doing.

Using a good planner will help you achieve balance in your day to day life. It helps you figure out your priorities for the day, month, and year.
A good way to eliminate overwhelm is to avoid overdoing it in one aspect of life and neglecting another.
As a wife, mother of two, and entrepreneur, I try not to compromise on family time, or neglect to pursue my dreams. It should never be one or the other.

I know I don’t want to live my life chasing dreams that aren’t really my dreams and getting lost (read: overwhelmed and frustrated) in the process.
Set your intentions and start your dream-chasing, goal-crushing journey on the right foot.
Having purchased numerous planners over the years, I’ll say there are many aesthetically appealing goal setting tools, but once you begin planning and writing, they just lack depth.
So I used to end up writing a few goals with little attention to how I’m going to achieve them.

5 More Ways to Crush Your Goals in 2018
When you plan out your day, week, month and year, be specific about what you’re going to do. Don’t just write “exercise more.”
Write down, how long and how frequently are you going to exercise? Where are you going to do it? Make specific plans and write down the length of time you are going to allocate to those tasks.
It’s easy to underestimate how much time it takes to accomplish everything on your daily to-do list.
If you have details and time-frames attached to your goals, you will have a better chance of achieving them.
Journaling doesn’t have to be about writing pages and pages about your day. Take 10 minutes every night to reflect on your day and what you achieved. It’s a good way to plan the next day too.
If you didn’t have enough time to tick some tasks off of your list today, you can re-write your plan for tomorrow so that it includes those tasks.
Cut out time-wasters
Find out what your time-wasters have been this year, and see if you can start cutting out those habits. What are the time-wasting habits that you could do less of?
For me, it’s Facebook. I love social media, but let’s be honest, it can be a total waste of precious time!
I will log in to Facebook just ‘to check one thing’ and end up spending more time than I would like scrolling through my news feed.
If that’s your time-waster, a good place to start is to switch off notifications on your phone. Maybe even switch off your phone for an hour at a time. Too far?
If you don’t tell anyone the goals you intend to achieve, it’s more tempting to let those goals go when things get tough.
Whether it be your bestie, partner, or your mom, choose someone you trust and be accountable to them. They will be the ones to cheer you on when you are about to quit on your dreams.
Whatever you do and how much you have on your to-do list, it’s never as important as your wellbeing.
Don’t forget to have a good laugh, enjoy the company of the people you love and be present in the moment.
Make a pact to take care of yourself in 2018. If you are fuelled by positive energy, then you will be more productive and be able to look after those you love.
When things get overwhelming, stop and breathe.

Sound simple? Well, it is. But it’s so amazing how those positive actions can do so much to change our perspective, and impact everything else we do.
